BarMax: The New $1,000 iPhone App

A year and a half after Apple removed the first $1,000 application I Am Rich from its iTunes App Store, another (more functional) $1,000 program has hit the popular marketplace.

BarMax CA retails for $999.99 and helps law students in California to prepare for the state bar exam. BarMax bills itself as the only complete bar exam prep solution (Essay, MBE, Performance Test and Flash Cards) available for purchase in the iPhone App Store.

The program is packed with more than 1GB of data, including hundreds of hours of audio and thousands of pages of test prep material. Although the cost is undeniably high, it is significantly cheaper than many classroom-based bar exam prep courses.

BarMax is currently available only for California law students, but the developer hopes to release similar apps in six other states by the end of this year.
