Research In Motion and LinkedIn Unveil Business Networking App for BlackBerry

Research In Motion and the business networking website, LinkedIn, have unveiled a business-oriented social networking application for BlackBerry smartphones.

The LinkedIn mobile application was demonstrated to more than 1,000 people at last week's BlackBerry Developer Conference in San Francisco, California. It comes equipped with all the basic LinkedIn functionality, including profile viewing and messaging, and pushes notification alerts to the BlackBerry's home screen.

BlackBerry users already have access to special Facebook and MySpace applications on their mobile devices, but the LinkedIn app is particularly significant, due to the fact that Research In Motion and LinkedIn target the same enterprise-oriented customer base.
